Fiber Optical Switch
We mass-produce fiber optic switches for all applications, leading the market in performance and cost. With over 20 years of refinement, we offer the industry's lowest loss, fastest, smallest and most reliable switches. Our switches have some unique and advanced attributes: virtually lossless, 300-2000nm ultra-broadband, single-mode cores as small as 3 μm and multimode cores as large as 1mm, virtually no distortion/loss, 10ns fast switching, 20W high power handling, over 26dB polarization extinction, vibration insensitive, and vacuum compatible. In addition, we offer custom solutions through in-house micro-assembly and MEMS wafer fabrication. The table below guides the selection of optical switches based on key application requirements. All switches are available in bias-preserving fiber and high power versions with cost-effective drive electronics and user-friendly GUI control software, as well as turnkey network-ready boxes. Hilink also designs/manufactures integrated modules/systems with custom features, or sends a quote directly to our dedicated team for any volume order.
Fiber Optical Switch
What is a fiber optic switch?
In computer networks, fiber optic switches are used to send and receive data transmissions and to determine where each packet needs to go, just like a normal network switch. The advantage is the speed and bandwidth available in fiber-optic networks. Noise is not an issue with fiber optic technology because the optical signal is not affected by electromagnetic interference and reliability is improved.
Other types of fiber optic switches are actually switches, such as light switches, which use fiber optic cables rather than traditional copper wires to transmit signals. This is because some environments are corrosive or have so much electromagnetic interference than traditional copper wire or any kind of metal wire is not suitable for transmitting signals.
